LaCie Rugged Triple USB 3.0 External Hard Drive





















Other than the RuggedKey, Lacie also adds the Rugged Triple USB 3.0 external hard drive to its rugged USB 3.0 storage line. Also designed by Neil Poulton, the drive gets its name Triple because of its triple interface – USB 3.0 with backwards compatibility to USB 2.0 and two FireWire 800 ports. It features four levels of rugged protection, including a 1000G shock-resistant hard drive, internal anti-shock rubber bumpers, aluminum anti-scratch casing, and shock-absorbing sleeve. The drive meets MIL-STD-810 standard for ruggedness and is able to withstand drops from up to two meters.While the toughness protects it from damages, Rugged Triple also supports AES 256-bit encryption technology and comes with LaCie AES 256-bit encryption software and Private-Public software to protect your data from unauthorized access. The rugged USB 3.0 drive also comes with LaCie Backup Assistant for automatic backup, and is compatible with Time Machine.

The Rugged Triple USB 3.0 is available in 500GB and 1TB capacities, which are priced at $149.99 and $199.99, respectively. There is also 7200RPM 500GB model that can deliver speeds up to 110MB/s, which is priced at $159.99.

LaCie Porsche Design P’9223 and P’9233 USB 3.0 External Hard Drives




















LaCie brings two new USB 3.0 external hard drives designed by Porsche Design, the P’9223 Mobile Drive and the P’9233 Desktop Drive. Both of them are designed and optimized for Mac, and feature Porsche Design aesthetic and aluminium casing that matches your Mac computers. They use USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface to offer a faster transfer rate, and are backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

The P’9223 mobile drive is USB-powered, meaning no extra power adapter is needed. It is available in 500GB and 1TB capacities. The lightweight, stylish drive weighs 240g. The P’9233 desktop hard drive, on the other hand, is based on 3.5-inch hard drive and needs external power supply. It features 5mm of solid aluminum casing surrounding for solid data protection. These USB 3.0 Porsche Design hard drives are compatible with Time Machine for seamless data backup. The P’9233 also includes Private/Public software to protect data from unauthorized access.

The portable Porsche Design P’9223 500GB and 1TB models are priced at $99.95 and $149.95 respectively. The P’9233 desktop drive comes in 2TB and 3TB capacities, that are available for $159.95 and $199.95, respectively.
